PLEASE don't let the fundie mullahs win. I very much fear they're going to, here in Texas.
Here in the 10th Ward of Minneapolis, there were two parties on the ballot--Dem and Green. :D I love my ward. I really do.
In St. Paul, there were 6 people running for 3 seats on the school board. The winners had their endorsements from the DFL, Progressive Minnesota, teachers, and labor & trade groups. The one openly Republican candidate was 4th, with about 13% of ballots marked by her name. A 24 year-old woman with endorsements from two Socialist groups was 5th, doing nearly as well as the Republican with 11% of the ballot and better than the lawyer who had no endorsements or clear positions to his name in the voter's guide. We bounced the DINO mayor who endorsed Bush last year, too. I wonder when a sitting mayor in this country has ever lost a re-election vote by 39 points?
